I have a new Windows 2000 Pro Pc and I'm trying to run a media file with 'media player' when the player is launched, it give a 'memory dump' message and then reboots the pc.

I'm using the most current media player v 9.
I've tried the media file on a Windows 98 box running an older version of media player and the file run good.

    Need help.
Pc has 128mb ram 3ghz processor.

    Thanks.
    Bill

Check your event logs for errors that give more detail.

If nothing there, modify your settings so you get a BSOD with a crash rather than a reboot and copy down details from the BSOD screen.

Really tough to troubleshoot these things without more information.
