I have a friend who is getting a message about the memory could not be read. Here is the exact email she sent me.

In trying to go to a web page I get this message
    (again)

    Explorer.exe application error

The instruction of 0x1001cd referenced memory at 0x1001cd11. The memory coulld not be "read "

    Check on okay.

    ----

I have tried to research this but I cannot find anything on this. I have looked around the BBS, but couldn't find anything here. Has anyone come across this before?

    Thanks
    Michael

I wondered if it may actually be pagefile type memory it is referring to. Ask her to occasionally go to Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del) Performance tab and make a note of the readings for Physical Memory -> Available. If it is running low the system will be running on pagefile (I would consider much less than 50,000Kb starting to get low). Run Error Checking (see Help and Support) on Automatic and Thorough. Look at increasing the amount of RAM.
