I was working on a friends computer a few days ago after they installed AOL as their IPS (arghhhhh) and I noticed that when the computer goes through startup and checks memory is does not stop after it should, like if there was 128MB it would stop when itshoed 128MB's...rather, it goes on repeating and even goes higher than the installed RAM and after about 5 minutes it finally stops or you can stop it with "esc "

I dont have the particulars on the comp with me and I do know that a person that has little experience has been on this comp tweaking it...

So if I can get some general answers to to this I really would be deeply appreciated, besides virus, checked for that...I know I have read about this and for the life of me, i cant remember and none of the books I have talk about this and I cant find any info on the web...I just want to make sure that this comp wont crash on here, her finacial resources are limited...thanx's for the help....:D ;)
