mega-chuku 3.0 virus- I NEED YOUR HELP!

I keep on getting these pop-ips that say Mega-Chuku 3.0. Then I hit "Ok" and it goes away. However, this is pissing me off. WHen I say pop-ups, I don't mean like an IE window. It is like the box that pops up and asks if you want to shut down the computer- it's a Windows box. Please help!

sounds like the virus is spanish in origin. are you running avg from grisoft.com?

Stoofer- I followed the instructions you gave and they seemed to work. WIll that mess up my comp.? It's working fine right now...

 

Sorry about that, kingb. I thought at the time that I posted the link, that the information was faulty. I'm not sure now. Perhaps someone with more experience could check this out when the link comes back online. I can't get to it at this time.

kingb, please check the link above for CABROTOR.A. It explains the regedit for this thing better than the original link posted. I hope that you haven't deleted the LoadPowerProfile key. The contents of that key have been altered by this malware with the file Asdapi.exe. The TrendMicro page explains this in detail.
