media player classic

each time i click on an mp3 to play i get...

open with selection box i repeatedly select media player classic, and check the always use box each time.

but each time i go to play another mp3 i always get the same

have even gone through mp3 properties and chosen same options, to no avail... oh wo is me

 

What versions of the media player and DirectX are you running?

If you have the Classic Windows menu, click Start and you will see Set Program Access and Defaults. If you drop down the Custom box, you'll see that you can choose your default media player.

If you use the newer XP style interface, I'm sure there is a way to do the same thing but if you have trouble, change to classic and do the above then change back to XP style menus.
