so i can get the ME machine to see the 98 no problem but the 98 will only see the ME machine in the network neigborhood but won't see that it has any folders on it, if it will see it at all. i ran the ME networking disk that it want's you to make for the 2 to see eachother, linksys wireless/ router hub connects the 2 and dishes out ip's

tcp/ip, both see the internet just fine...

any suggestions to get the 98 to see the ME properly?

Network neighborhood is only going to see shares (and "normal" as opposed to hidden) shares so if the ME box has no open shares, you won't see anything other than a mention of the PC.

If you do have shares on the ME system and just aren't seeing them, try connecting directly to the share. For instance, if the ME box is named ME and has a folder shared as myshare$, you wouldn't see it from network neighborhood but should be able to connect to it by name. \\ME\myshare should show up in network neighborhood and be available from the start~run line.

So - assuming myshare exists on ME, then from the 98 PC

    start~run~\\ME\myshare

and you should get connected. If not, there is a networking issue of some sort.
