Maybe Firefox isn't the only culprit?

Things seemed to be fine until the most recent Firefox update a couple of weeks ago.

Then everything started running very slowly whether or not Firefox was loaded. This was most problematic for Photoshop during editing of RAW camera files. Things ground to a stop and often shutdown completely.

So, I did the regular maintenance and cleanup of Windows and tweaked Firefox a bit which improved Firefox to only requiring about 15% of system resources.

However, everything else is still slow. It's okay at startup with only using 4% of system resources but once I open Photoshop or try to play a game (Papparazzi), it slows to a CRAWL and I have to reboot.

I don't know what is going on but it is very annoying!

    Hi pardes,

Have you done thorough Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware scans?

If not, do them and if anything is found:

    If you're clean, post back.

Last week Firefox 3.0.10 was released. Check your FF version and upgrade to the newest if nave a lower version.

I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox and that took care of the problem. Thanks anyway.
