I have been seriously thinking about using the Maxthon shell over Internet Explorer (I have gotten used to customizing my browser, but I'm getting tired of Firefox' memory problems).

I'm wondering if there are any security problems that might arise (from logging in to financial sites--I'm not worried about malware). Has anyone heard of there being any risk at all from the makers of Maxthon being able to detect a user's login data?

Thanks for the review. Overall, it was pretty positive.

What I was specifically looking for was anything on the company itself, and how much a rather unknown company could be trusted with my browsing data, or if this was a valid concern---is there any way the designers of this browser shell could be snooping on me?

I'm sure there are tons of ways they could be doing that. Real question is are they spying on you?

In a few different ways, I take it you guys are saying the browser is safe to use.

I suppose I don't have too much (in my bank account) to be worried about, regardless. :(

I take it Maxthon is an acceptable alternative.

However, after tiring of Firefox' memory leaking/freezing, I've decided to go back to Google Chrome. I tried it again today, and found out they fixed the problem that made me want to try another browser, and I gotta say, Google isn't the perfect company, but man they do know how to get a UI right. Having used Chrome for at least several months, I just didn't like anything else.
