I don't understand the significance of your log. But, I try msn.com|maps, and I entered as a start, my home address, and end the Omaha Eppley airport.
The map came up, but I was left stranded in downtown Omaha. I, specifically, entered Omaha Eppley Airport, Omaha Nebraska. Finally, I changed to Eppley Airport, Omaha, Nebraska, and I was given two choices. One was the Eppley airfield, and the other was a certain Englewood Park. After I picked what I understand that the map thingy wanted, I got what I knew was correct. It took me only 10 minutes. I tried Mapquest, and I could not figure out what it wanted from me.. I was using a Firefox3.0 beta.
Anyway, in your case, considering that even IE does not respond, it could be a case where the Firewall is playing tricks.
I have never tried anything like this, but it is a frustrating experience.

Just posted log to see if any info listed assisted you in problem solving my situation.

Basically the problem is when attempting to access a map through one of the services a blank white page shows. Some have a blank box where the map should be with an x in the corner. I have ensured that java is enabled but unsure what else to do.

I know that Symantec Norton is notorious for causing problems. According to your log, you are using Symantec Norton firewall. Disable it, and see what happens. Once, I had a problem with S & D Tea Timer. That is the other possibility. Disable them, one at a time.
I have removed S & D, and, never had Symantec Personal Firewall, although I am using the old reliable Sygate Personal Firewall, which has not been updated in years.

Disable both (one at a time) and unfortunately continued problems. Any other suggestions? Thanks for taking the time with my situation

    Mike,

Since IE doesn't work either, not sure if the following will help, but try anyway:

Assuming you are using Firefox, check these settings to ensure they are correct:

    Edit | Preferences | Privacy & Security | Cookies
    Allow all cookies
    Accept cookies normally

Scroll down to: Manage Cookies and Sites
Click: Cookies Manager | Cookie Sites Tab
    Add: www.mapquest.com
    Click: Allow

Do the same for the other sites you can't access

    Edit | Preferences | Privacy & Security | Images
    Enable: Accept all images

Scroll down to: Animated images should loop
Enable: As many times as the image specifies
    Click: Manage Image Permissions Tab
    Add: www.mapquest.com
    Click: Allow

    If still no joy:

    Clear the Location Bar
In the blank field, type: about:config
In the Filter field, type: dom.disable_image_src_set
Ensure that the value is set to "false ".
If not set to false, right-click the preference name and select reset, or double-click to toggle.

Let us know if any of the above works.

Unfortunately still no luck. I am at a loss at this point and unsure what is going on. When I attempt to access yahoo maps it only shows the title Yahoo maps and nothing else. I am not sure what else can be done.

    Mike,

Check one more setting, if you will:

Type about:config in the Location Bar
In the Filter field, type: permissions.default.image
Ensure that the value is set to: 1
One (1) is the default setting, and below are all three possible settings:

1 Allow all images to load, regardless of origin. (Default)

2 Block all images from loading.

3 Prevent third-party images from loading.

That IE doesn't work either is significant, but something I can't hlep you with, as I have very little knowledge of IE.

In view of another post where the problem was fixed by installing Adobe Flash, is there any request for a plugin, or is Adobe Flash installed?
However, the original post suggests that things were working ok before.
I am at a loss to explain this behavior. When I go to the Adobe Flash web page, I get a small notice that I already have v.9,0,115 installed.
There is a table below, which lists the necessary versions, and a link to the download page.

I think I was having the same problem. No matter what map site I tried, much of the maps wouldn't show. I gave up initially, and once in a while would look for an answer when I came across someone who actually had a similar problem. I had the problem both in IE and firefox. I fixed it in firefox, haven't checked IE yet.

    This is what I did:

    1. Type "about:config" (without quotes) in the browser's location bar.
    2. Type "image" (without quotes) in the Filter field.
    3. Verify that "dom.disable_image_src_set" is set to FALSE.
    4. Verify that "network.image.imageBehavior" is set to 0 (the default setting).

Please note that "network.image.imageBehavior" may appear as "permissions.default.image" for some browsers. (this was the case for me)

If you continue to experience difficulties, you may want to uninstall any programs or extensions that change the way your browser handles JavaScript. Other users have reported that these programs may affect one's ability to view the map display.

I tried this, went to google maps, same problem. Restarted, now it works perfect! Hope this works for you, it was frustrating enough for me that I regged to this site just to help you.
