Mapping a network drive

    Good day to you all,

    I tried to map a network drive and my computer failed to connect to the drive,the network path could not be found.I tried connecting via the network neighbourhood and the computer was not accessible.Okay then came the following day , I tried to open start my machine all icons on my desktop were gone and the Outlook had no mails , it was like iwas on a new machine, I dont know what I might have done , but I can only see recycling bin on my screen . can someone help me restoring my settings

    Have you rebooted several times since then? That is the time startup/background programs are being loaded.

    Try booting into Safe Mode and see if the desktop works there. If so, I might consider running a System Restore or maybe running a test of making a new user profile.

    Trying to map the network drive may have given one of your security programs a headache if they say, might be set not to allow sharing.
