    Can anyone please, comment on Malwarebytes, is it reliable
    and worth the £20 fee, appears it requires renewing each
    year.

    Nothing better :)
    You can always use free version.
    Paid version works in real time, free version is just on demand scanner.

    Wouldn't be without it. I use the FREE version and have never had a problem. Saved me a lot of work on different peoples PC that I had it installed on if they kept it up to date.
