What can I do it with? With win2k and no third party programs? or can CuteFTP do it? If no to both, something preferably freeware.

Windows 2000 comes with IIS 5.0 which includes FTP serving. If you don't see Internet Services Manager in Administrative Tools, go to "Add/Remove Programs" in the Control Panel, click on "Add/Remove Windows Components ", insert your Windows 2000 CD-ROM and install IIS.

If you have Windows 2000 Pro, you will be limited to 10 connections at a time for FTP and Web serving. It is unlimited for Server and Advanced Server.

    win2000 IIS FTP server

Have you been able to configure the IIS server to allow non Admin. users (standard users) to log in to the FTP server? I have been able to set it up - but I always get error 130 user **** not able to log in.

I have the local security rights allowing users to log in - I have them with dial up access. I just can not figure it out. I have been trying for a long time.

Do you have any advise that you could throw my way?

    Thanks
    Dan

    File Server

    Lee:

I may have missed some of this thread, but I infer
from that which I have read that you are looking
for a good, free file server.

If the foregoing is accurate, I use WarFTP. If
memory serves me, the URL is

    http://mechfire.net/warftp
