    xxx  Hello,
MY 1st post so bare with me, but I need some major help regarding Java script. I have windows xp on a hp pav524w pc with a 2100+processor.I Bought computer brand new almost 2 years ago. My problem is this:
For about a year now (Since returning from Oklahoma with the computer),
I am having alot of problems with msn & msn groups with Internet Explorer as my browser. I have dial up also. I'll connect with Earthlink my ISP, and then go to IE then to msn groups. This problem only happens when I'm in msn groups.
I'll go to a group and go to the message boards and if I want to reply to a post I can't. If I want to start a new post and click on "New disscussion ", nothing happens. Everytime I try to reply to a post or start a whole new post, in the lower left hand corner of my screen after I hit "send message" or "reply" is this : "Javascript rep(7 numbers in here) ". Once in a blue moon I will be able to post or reply to a post but 97% of the time I can't like everyone else on the boards can. MSN told me that I didn't have my virtual machine but in my add/remove , it is listed there. Can anyone tell me why I get this message of "Javascript rep" only on msn and only in their groups. Like me, you were probaly thinking I should give up on msn since they are sick of hearing from me and haven't helped me with this problem. I have read all the help articles for msn and msn groups and they haven't helped either. can some one please help me. Merry Christmas **Lanie

I'm going to take a stab at this and suggest that it maybe due to any popup blocker that you may be running. How about pushing and holding down either the control key or the shift key (some popup blockers override the block by one or the other depending on which you use). If one doesn't work the other usually will. Do this just before clicking on the link that's giving you the problem.

Also make sure you have the most recent version of the piece of Sun Java that users need (as opposed to folks doing Java development).

http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp and click on the windows download.

Okay, first let me say that I'm sorry for posting in the wrong area. I was going to post in this board but decided on general, so I should of stayed with my first choice.
Thank you for replying to my post regarding java. I went ahead last night and downloaded the java 2 Runtime Enviroment SE v1.4.1_06 that took 108.00 MB.
I went to my C.P and looked in add/remove and noticed that I also have there Java 2 runtime enviroment SE v.1.4.1_02 at 1.72MB and also Java 2 runtime enviroment SE v.1.4.1_05 @ 108 MB. Should I remove those 2 since I have the _06 now? or should I remove all 3 and download just the latest one again.?
I also noticed I have Java Web Start @ 2.05 mb, and wonder what that is for and if I really need it?
I am going to go also and try holding down the shift or control key and see if that works.
Please let me know about the Java's I have already and what I should do.
Thanks so much and merry Christmas
    Lanie
