   I renetly purchased a new computer using windows XP. I am used to Windows 98 where you need to major maintenance to keep it running. All I see on XP is defraging and claning up old files.
   
   Is there any other maintenance I need to do on a regular basis

   A good cleanup once a month or so is a good idea.
