    Hi All,

I would have a concern regarding the windows defined default email client on Windows XP.

I am working with the IT support of one of the biggest companies,
We have a problem with The default mail client after the Office 2007 enterprise enrollment.

Basically the company is using the Domino Lotus Notes 6.5.4 client, that should be registered as the default mail client if users click onto a hyperlink "mailto:..." however, since the enterprise 2007 deployment (also containing Outlook 2007 by mistake) this does not seem to work anymore.

I am aware of two possibilities, - for websites the tools/internet options/programs and mail: possibility that can be easily changed, and on the win explorer tools/folder options/Filetype/ MailTo Protocol that should also be changed in order to solve the problem.

This should not be a problem if it was a single user issue, - however we are talking about a few hundreds of users, i am actually thinking a registry script could do the trick, do not have a clue though how to find the reg key or where to create the one that would contain these entries..

    Could You please help me?

    Thanks so much,

    Kind Regards,

    Beni

I believe this is the key:
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Clients\Mail\ "Mail_Client_Name "\shell\open\command
    Value: "C:\Mail_Client_Path\MAIL_CLIENT.EXE "
