    Hi
    Win 98, Netscape 7.1
Is it any way to stop this annoying message from displaying:
"You did not specify a subject for this message. If you would like to provide one, please type it now. "
    ...while sending an e-mail.
    Thanks,
    Broni

    Broni,

This msg is displayed (as you have found out) when you leave the subject line blank.
Try putting something in the subject line ( a space seems to work )

Otherwise you would have to hack into
    <drive>:\program files\.........\chrome\en-US.jar\locale\en-US
    \messenger\messengercompose\composeMsgs.properties
and a couple of .dll files to get rid of it.

    regards:

"Try putting something in the subject line "
I just don't want to put anything there (in most cases, it's just a waste of time to me), and I don't want to be bothered, if I don't.
"Otherwise you would have to hack into "
I'd love to, if I knew what to change.
    Thanks for responding.

    Broni,

You're welcome, sorry that I could not have been more help.

A blank subject line sure looks funny on the other end ?

I have trained my Spam Folder to dump any e-mail with no subject. But, there are cases when you may want to send an e-mail without a subjuct, like it happened to me when I wanted to be off a mail list.
But, if you want to proceed your way, you will be bugged, for your own good.

If you don't mind starting a email from a " template ", create one with the "space" or insert a "period" into the subject line. When you choose the template to author the email, the subject line will have been previously managed. Of course, you could be creative, and put in one line "Jokes or popular quotes" in your pre-created "Subject line" templates.

    Hi broni,

I can get you into the en-US.jar file, and there is an entry:

    ## String used by the dialog that ask the user to enter a subject
    subjectDlogTitle=Send Message
subjectDlogMessage=You did not specify a subject for this message. If you would like to provide one, please type it now.

I tried deleting the entry, but it did nothing, and I still received the dialog. There are other files that no doubt would have to be deleted. You probably need to talk to someone at MozillaZine, or who is knowledgeable in tweaking. Try the Netscape Newsgroups.

Who can give me more clear answer, then you, Ramona, my favorite Netscape lady:)
This is nothing urgent, but I'll try your suggestion.
    Thanks again, Ramona.
