I have recently started receiving messages from one of my friends that arrives with the title in a red font. This just started all of a sudden. I used to be able to change the way messages appear and highlight them in a certain color. However, I am unable to find a way to do that now. I am using Outlook Express 6 and Windows XP Pro. Where did this choice go?

Perhaps it got marked as "watched" somehow. Click on the colored message so it's highlighted and then click the message menu. If watch conversation has a checkmark next to it, click it to remove it. To change the color of the subject line in emails you can set up a message rule. Tools>message rules>mail. Have a look in there. It could also be that there's a rule that's causing them to appear in red.

    Re: E-maill

Thank for the reply, Zander. I checked all of the mentioned items and found nothing there. However, as of today, the messages from this person are all arriving in the normal fashion and not in "red" any more. I can't explain why, but all is normal again. Thanks for your help.

Gald to hear you've got it resolved. Those were the only two things I could think of that would cause this type of thing. I wouldn't know where to go form there. :)
