I use netscape 6.2. I liked the way previous versions had a notifier (nsnotify)
I downloaded nsnotify and placed it in netscape 6 folder. It is in my sys tray w/ a x through it. Says it needs a dll file?????? Ideas?

    Welcome to the Forum!

    Hi Bimmer Guy,

I do have a workaround for Mail Notification using NSnotify. The catch is, that you will need Communicator 4.x installed in order to use the program.

    These are the details:

Post back and let us know how it goes, or if you have questions.

Thank you, nice to be here. I guess I'll have to get the earlier version if I want that cool red flag:)

Ramona, can I d/l a 4.x version do what you said on your workaround sheet then delete the 4x version? I have a hangup re: having 2 netscape versions on my machine. Silly me:)

    Fear not!

    Hi Bimmer Guy,

You will need both 4.x and 6.x. I will assure you that they reside quite well together. Currently I have 6.2.1, 4.79, Mozilla0.9.8, and Opera6.01. They don't interfere with each other.

If you choose not to try the NSnotify workaround, there are third-party mail notification programs you can try. I've seen Mail Inspector recommended on the Netscape Newsgroups, although I have no experience with the program. I'm sure a Google search will bring up many more.
