Mail in Mozilla 1.73

I just installed 1.73 and got the mail working BUT I don't want it to acquire mail as soon as loaded. I want to control that and only get when I say. That's be cause I am using MailWasher to control what goes to my mail client.

I could not find that option.

One other thing, my sister in Oregon, sent me a film clip that I would like to look at. It never showed in Mozilla mail, and when I tried it in OE-6, the message was that this film click was automatically deleted. That may be a setting that is for my protection but I would like to be sure.

The setting you need is located here:

Open Mail & Newsgroups
Click on: Edit | Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings | Server Settings
Uncheck everything under: Server Settings

What was the file type for the film clip? Unless you have either a plugin or Helper Application for the file type then that is why it doesn't play in Mozilla. Did you try downloading the clip and playing it?
