I just got a PowerBook G3 from work and I'm looking to connect it to my network at home (Win2000 Adv Svr, Win2000 Pro workstation, and 2 XP Pro units). I tried enabling AppleShare on both the Mac & the server and after hours of trying and a few reboots, nothing works.

Can someone please help before I yank my hair out? Thanks much. :)

Lucky - sorry to say we have almost zero Mac expertise on this forum just now. Your best bet is probably to try a Mac forum since they have to deal with Windows usually. There is an active one with reasonable answers to lots of questions Here

Thanks for your response. I kind of figured that Mac experience on a Windows forum is a long shot, but I thought maybe I was doing something wrong from the Windows side. I appreciate your response though. :)

When I was searching around for a Mac forum that had activity and reasonable responses to questions, I found mention of several apps in conjunction with Mac/Windows networking and C3 systems in particular. DAVE, OS-X and several others. Didn't ever get clear on just when you need these but my guess is the Mac needs something added or something set up differently in order to play nice with Windows.

Very sketchily I remember this much from W2K to apple networking:

When creating the shares they need to be done from within computer management (this allows you to select it as an Apple share)

    Hope this is of use

    Andy
