M/S Office2000Pro "Word" specifaclly

Win.O/S XP-SP2, Application is microsoft Office 2000Pro. Whenever I open WORD the courser is positioned halfway down the page, and will also print that way. If I go to "page set-up and set it to a one inch header for instance and than click okay the courser still remains 1/2 way down the page. Have tried uninstalling and re-installing the application but problem still persits. Have also tried registry cleaner and then install but no good. If I open an pre-existing document that was made before problem started I can manipulate anything I want to. Thanks....Den........
