I've got IDE devices as follows:
    IDE 1 M: hard drive
    IDE 1 S: nothing
    IDE 2 M: CD-ROM
    IDE 3 S: LS120

I have a regular floppy drive too, so the LS120 is B:.

Win98SE has forgotten that the drive can do 120 megs. It still works perfectly with 1.44 floppies, but it can't read 120 meg disks anymore. What can be done to restore the drive's full functionality?

Doesn't that LS-120 require software to function correctly?

You could always try un/reinstalling the software.

Assuming everything else is in order that's the next thing I would attempt.

No when installed as IDE it requires no special drivers and is available in dos.

Recheck your ls 120 from DOS pure dos not from windows. If it does read a 120 here then the drive is OK boot back to windows and remove it from device mgr and reboot so that it will reinstall properly.

If it don't work in dos it will not work in windows. If it still only reads 1.4 then the 120 side is bad you now have 2 1.4 foppies.
