I need a low level format utility for a Toshiba 10G Laptop drive, probably any Toshiba LL util would work, but hteir site has none. Must be difficult cuz even Google dosen't really show much.
Due to a BIOS snafu, it now shows 2G bad sectors. I would like to erase this erroneous error map.

    TIA

Usually, if you fdisk to delete the partition, reboot, fdisk to create, reboot and format it'll clear up the erroneous bad sectors.

You can also try SpinRite at www.grc.com. Spinrite will do a low level non-destructive reformat. It also does a surface test and is capable of recovering sectors that are not bad and flagging questionable sectors as bad.
