I have lost my XP Pro OS CDs. Can you purchase replacments?
If the computer goes out can the same XP OS be installed in the same computer? :)

    Hello Nickhm,

    "Can you purchase replacments? "

    Yes.

"If the computer goes out can the same XP OS be installed in the same computer? "

If you reload with a replacement set, have to go thru the activation process again.

If you find the original set, answer of course is yes.

    Regards - Charles

Personally, I'd get a copy of a disk imaging program ASAP! Just clone your drive now!

    Nick,

I might have left you with the impression that if reloading XP with the original discs, activation is not needed, not true.

    Charles,

I have located my Windows XP CD (after much, much seaching. My wife had put in a place so it could be eaisly found "Ha, Ha" & then forgot where that was. My understanding is it has to be activated before use. Thank You....:)

    Hey Nick,

I'm not clear on what you're asking. The only activation that has to take place is IF you have to reload your OS due to some massive problem with the current installation.

Its not the discs that have to be activated, but the installation of the contents if those discs if reinstalled.

Am I making the correct interpertation of your question?

    Regards - Charles
