Lost programs

    had a virus..used AVG to remove it..Now NOBODY can run programs directly..you get the 'program not found' work around is to RUN AS logged in user.. can't use control panel properly as windows can't find rundll32. tried to put shortcuts in ALL USERS program start directory but no success either.. can't run anything off of install disk.. obviously something has died but what is it?????

    additional infor to problem.. if I have a saved web page on the desktop, it will cause browser to open.. same with word documents, excell files.. ... anything.

    The only sure way to recover from a virus is to format (loose all data) and do a fresh install.
