I realize that Netscape is now AOL, but I used Netscape 7.2 for my email program and had many saved files along with my address book that I can not recover. Can anyone help?

Your question is confusing me. Do you have NS7.2 installed or not? If not, find the program in Druidfeast link, download it, and install it. It will pick up the settings. The fact that AOL owned Netscape is irrelevant. The only issue is if the same profile was used with either Mozilla or Seamonkey. Your Netscape 7.2 should be in your computer, but it is necessary to have a properly installed program to use its mail. If you wish to use a more recent program, please say so.

I have used the link to re-install Netscape 7.2, but when I try to go to emails it takes me to AOL and asks for me to set up a new account with them.

Westside, What in the world is Druidfeast link??

I've never heard of it and a Google search took me to lots of links but, nothing showed up with anything to do with Netscape.

    I'm apparently missing something here.

    Welcome to the Forum, wjsdes!

    wjsdes,

Can you clarify a bit more, i.e., "it" meaning the mail program, takes you exactly where? Are you trying to set up a Web Mail account, or an account through your ISP?

When you reinstalled Netscape 7.2, a new Profile was created. It will be located, depending on your OS, in one of these locations: http://home.att.net/~cherokee67/mailfldrloc.html]Mail folder location. Your original 7.2 Profile should be located in the same location.

To point 7.2 to the original Profile, do this:
    Open Netscape Mail
Click on: Edit | Preferences | Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings | Server Settings

    Scroll down to: Local directory
Click the "Browse" tab to the right of the path, and locate your original Profile. Then point to this path:
    C:\xxxxxxx\xxxxxxx\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\profile_name\*.slt\Mail\pop.isp_name.net

Close Netscape, then restart. Your original Profile, and Mail should be available.
