I have Windows XP for home, Netscape 7.2 is my browser and the verizon e-mail comes through that way. I am a real computer novice. Yesterday morning, I received an Alert saying that there was either a problem with
the server or insufficient space on the hard drive preventing me from
sending and receiving email. I cleaned a lot of stuff from the inbox,
    but it still didn't work.
Called the Verizon people who are usually great at fixing things that
may not relate to Verizon. The tech set up a new email account
using all the old settings and said that the inbox should not be
affected. Well, it was. All attempts to recover failed. They
suggested a call to Netscape. Netscape charges 40.00 before the call
even goes through. It seems to me that I had a similar problem a few
years ago and was charged the 40 to have them tell me they couldn't
help. Not that 40 is a whole lot of money, but there's no sense in
throwing 40 in the trash can.
Does anyone know how to recover my inbox? Thanks
    George

I don't know why you had a problem, as you did not provide sufficient information, such as did you have thousands of e-mails in your account.
What the verizon tech did was correct, up to a point. Your file/folders are not removed from the profile, but, it is not enough to create a new account. You have to get the old stuff. Please read this article carefully . You can get your old mail into a newly recreated account, by renaming the old Inbox, copying it, and pasting the files into the new account.
The old account in the Mail folder would be named xxxx@verizon.net, while the new one would be xxxx@verizon-1.net.
At one time I had six identical accounts, which died an untimely death.
You should get your money back from Netscape!
