I had computer problems and had to reformat my hard disk. I copied all the files that I could onto DVD's and thought I copied all important files. Unfortunately, my Netscape 6.0 and its mail folders seem nowhere to be found.

I was able to copy all files on my prior disk except a large one which kept saying that it was being used and unavailable. I had no problems copying Explorer favorities as they were in a separate file folder which was accessable for copying.

The Netscape information that I did copy was points to the now missing netscape. For future reference where does Netscape store its programs, bookmarks and mail?

    Welcome to the Forum, bills4700

    bills4700,

The location of your Profiles folder depends on your OS.

    Profiles Folder Location:
    http://home.att.net/~cherokee67/ns7profloc.html

    Mail Account Folder Location:
    http://home.att.net/~cherokee67/mailfldrloc.html

FWIW, if you are still using Netscape 6, I strongly suggest that you abandon this browser. It is obsolete, full of both security vulnerabilities and bugs. Think seriously about updating your browser to either Seamonkey 1.0 or Firefox and Thunderbird...

If you stuck to Netscape6.0, or the slightly better 6.0.1, the profile would be in the User50 folder of whatever path for your OS.
