Hi My friend has a PC with Vista Home Basic on it and he had downloaded an E Bay Toolbar and all it's associated junk, so he decided to delete it.
When he deleted the E bay Icon from the desk top it took all the original Icons ( My Computer , My Documents etc ) with it ,it left the Recycle bin and a couple of others,
In the recycle bin there were heaps of things that he didn't know were even on his PC.??
I found most of them and replaced ( allthough with different icons) them except for My Computer. Where would the original places be for this be.?
I am not very familiar with Vista, but when you click on Start, you only get a small list , no links to My Computer , My Documents, My Pictures, Control panel etc, is this normal with Vista, or has he deleted some thing
Any suggestion would be very helpfull.
    Cheers Des.

For the missing icon, right click any empty space on the desktop, left click Personalize. In the left-hand pane, click "Change Desktop Icon." Check or uncheck items there depending on what you want to show, click OK when done, close the Personalize window.

For the Start Menu, right click the Start button, left click Properties. On the Start Menu tab, click the Customize button. That's where you can add or remove items from the Start Menu.
