In the past when I started my computer the Yahoo messenger icon would open automatic. Somehow or other the icon is no longer in the symtray and the messenger does not open by itself. How do I go about correcting this so it will open when I start my computer? Thanks Jean

    Hi Jean Marks
    Welcome to the boards!
First place I'd check is msconfig to see if it somehow got unchecked.
(Start button....run...type in: msconfig ......click ok.....check under the start up tab) Look for Yahoo messenger and see if there's a check mark beside it.

    yahoo messenger icon

The problem is that the yahoo messenger or check box for it is not in the start up box. When I go into the system configure utility box and click on start up, the yahoo messenger is not there . Somehow or other I need to get the yahoo messenger in the box so I can click to open it. At one time it was in the system tray. The McAfee, call wave, etc. are in the box and also in the system tray.

    Have you tried to re-install?

    *edit*
Just to doble check.....you're looking for Ypager.exe under msconfig....correct?

Does this mean that you cannot get Messenger to launch at all? Or just not automatically?

If it will launch, see whether there's an option in the program itself to make it run at startup (maybe under the Tools menu?).
