I shoulda added that I have a HP Pavilion zx5190US laptop.

    *** edit ***
At the advice of HP, I shut off my hibernation to recalibrate my battery. Well, After a few other things I did (updated the bios, bought a new battery, fought an aspi problem), I cant get the hibernation option back. Here's what I have done so far...

1> Tried uninstalling the ACPI Power Button - This does nothing. Windows wants to reboot afterwards, so I do.. Nothing. No Hibernation option. Also tried uninstalling in Safe mode.. No good.

2>Tried uninstalling ACPI-Compliant Embedded Controller - It will uninstall, but does not help.

3> There is also ACPI Fixed Feature Button, ACPI Lid, ACPI Power Button (Above), and ACPI Thermal Zone. All of these have the same result as <1> above.

    I also have:

Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System - This caused the system to have "heart failure ", redetecting all drivers and causing an ASPI error. Was fixed by deleting the aspi.sys driver, and redetecting the ide controller (this is what tripped the aspi)

Microsoft Composite Battery - Does nothing

Microsoft Windows Management Interface for ACPI - Haven't tried it for fear of the same problem w/ the system above.

Other than that, there is nothing else dealing with the power, except for the Microsoft AC Adapter and Microsoft ACPI-Compliatn Control Method Battery, which I have tried uninstalling and it does not help.

I have not tried uninstalling the Plug and Play Bios Extension (Cause I updated the bios, thought that might reset the bios.)

There are no power settings in the bios.

Can someone please help! Hibernation is a valuable thing for me.

admin note: I removed the work "HELP" from your title. Anyone posting here wants help and putting in the word just clutters up the thread. Please take a look at the forum posting rules.
