On April 5th 2010 I moved my outlook .pst files to a different drive anticipating reloading Win XP Pro. As it turned out I didn't reload Win XP Pro until May 1st. During this span of about a month I continued to use Outlook with no problem. All mail listings were there including the day to day accumulation of new e-mail up to May 1st. After reload and updates up to SP2 I reinstalled Office 2007 and setup Outlook again. At this time I let Outlook create new .pst files on the C drive and I continued to receive e-mail in this new file. Last night I accessed the old .pst file and all the e-mails were there up to the time I moved the file. Everything after April 5th was gone. Is it possible these missing files (April 6th to May 1st) could be in another file somewhere?

    Thanks,
    Dutch

FILE->Import and point it to the pst that is being used and import all the mail.

Thanks Steve but the file I need is the one I can't find. I will try a *.pst search when I get home tonight and see what happens. Thanks again,

I'm wondering if there is any way to recover a file that has been written over by another file with the same name. I never found the original file I lost but I had some of what was in the folder. I just overwrote that folder and lost all it contained (all my original Outlook folders, e-mail addresses and such). Any help on this one would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Dutch

Course .pst files are system files and might be hidden.

If on the day it happend you stopped using the pc and tried the following then "maybe" you might have been able to recover the file....Odds are slim..

AFAIK Outlooks PST files are not system files, nor are they hidden.

Right-click the current pst file and select the Previous Versions tab. If your profile is included in the System Restore cycle, you should have previous versions to go back to.

Thanks for the reply. When I right click on .pst file I get the standard options but no option for previous versions of .pst file.

    Thanks,
