While half asleep and reading my TB email, I clicked on a link in a message and my FF, which has two profiles, popped up and istead of clicking on my profile I accidentally checked the "Don't ask at start up" box leaving me with only one FF profile to access the web. I tried everything I could thing of to reverse this. can anyone help?

    If I remember correctly:

Start > Run > type: thunderbird.exe -profilemanager > OK > Uncheck the box > OK

I can, then, use profile manager bypass . The only difference is that you leave out the xxxxx in front of the actual name. So, I have two shortcuts, one with: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -p FirefoxA, and the other with "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -p FirefoxB, in the Target line.
And, of course, rename the shortcut to reflect the path.
If I want to make a change, just delete the FirefoxX from the Target line, leaving "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -p . That will open the profile manager. I never do anything else, but, unchecking the box, as Christer said is vital.

... and to save some wear and tear on your index fingers, "thunderbird.exe -p" suffices to open the profile manager.

Even better, create a shortcut. I did that a long time ago, and also had a shortcut for Safe Mode long before it was included in the installation package.
