I have Windows ME running, but now it will not see any CD-Rom drives. Is there a way for me to "make" it see the CD drive?

PLease start a new thread on a new subject - only leads to confusion otherwise

    Try this ....

Device Manager - CD-ROM drives, click on + sign to reveal your drives > right click > remove/uninstall. (Wording similar to this - I have never run Me seriously)

Close Device Manager, shut down and reboot.

    Hi Mrgaskell,

Do you have the latest set of motherboard drivers installed?

I have used PeteC's method in combination with disconnecting the drive after "removing" the drive in Device Manager and shutting down. Do a full boot to Windows with it disconnected. Shutdown and reconnect it again.

You can also try removing the IDE controller in Device Manager.

Have you tried changing the configuration, eg. from master to slave?

    Try changing cables.

If you can't find the reason, consider a BIOS upgrade (may relate to the other problems you have had with the board).

    Matt
