Uninstalled Acrobat reader 6.0, rebooted and opened IE6. For some reason IE no longer displays any background colors. Everything is white. Pictures, links, images and text all display properly, but the background color for
    every webpage is always white.
Running XP pro and went back to my last restore point before the
uninstall and although Acrobat Reader 6.0 was reinstalled it didn't fix the background color problem.
Checking and unchecking "use windows colors" in Internet Options has no effect. Under the Colors button, I can change the font color, the links colors and the hover color, but no matter which color I select for 'background' it always stays white. Checking and unchecking "ignore colors specified on web pages" under the Accessibility button also has no effect.
Any ideas would be appreciated - Gil Theissen

XP Pro may be different from XP Home in this manner. But, try this, Tools, Internet Options, General, then to the bottom right and click Accessibility. Make sure the top option is not checked. If it is, you will get a white screen. If it is the same it should refer to Colors On Web Pages.

Thanks for the reply. The button is labeled "ignore colors specified on web pages ", but, checking or unchecking it has no effect.
