Resolved Lost almost all color

    Just now, I used Avast's uninstall program to uninstall Avast!. It worked, but now I've lost almost all the color on web sites and in Outlook 2010. What have I done???:confused: And does anyone know how I can get the colors back?

    That is weird. Have you tried to reinstall Avast and see if they come back?

    I can't just reinstall it, because I removed the entire folder, including the download. I tried to download it, again, but because I no longer have the license key, I could only download the free version. That didn't change anything.

    Not only have I lost most of my colors, but my Outlook calendar, for instance, is unreadable. Can't distinguish the dates or the events. What a mess!

    And this all came about because Avast (paid version) wasn't working right, so I called them for help but they would only help if I contracted for at least a year of expensive tech help. So I tried to solve the problem myself. Now, I'll probably end up having to take it into the Geek Squad or somebody.

    Hi aks. Could you post a screenshot on what your desktop looks like so we can determine how bad the problem is?

    It sounds like your system is using a low bit color which is reducing the amount of colors shown on the screen. What video card do you have installed?

    My video card is ATI Radeon HD 5450. I know how to get a screen shot, but I don't know how to insert it here.

    You should be able to attach files. Click the Go Advanced button at the bottom of this thread. Then under attach files click the button that says Manage Attachments to upload a screenshot here.

    It looks like you are using one of the Windows Classic themes. Try this, right click on the desktop and click Personalize. In the themes window select the Windows 7 Basic Theme to apply it. If you want the Aero theme instead go ahead and select that one if you wish. Let me know if that works.

    Evan, you got it! It worked. Now, I have no idea what I did to change things, but never mind, I have the colors back now. Thank you so much.
