They're most likely all still on the drive.

First, when you logon Outlook Express into your old identity (Outlook Express>File>Switch Identity), do they still not show up?

If they don't, go to Start>Search (or Find>Files and Folders, depending on the operating system), and tell it to search the entire drive for "*.dbx" (without the quotes, with the asterisk and the dot, no spaces).

It will probably find quite a few of them since there is more than one identity in Outlook Express but your "inbox.dbx" and "sent items.dbx," etc, will probably be the largest .dbx files it finds.

Make note of the exact folder where they are located (leave the search window open so you can refer back to it),

Open Outlook Express to your identity, go to File>Import>Messages, choose "Outlook Express 6" in the first window," click Next. Then check "Import mail from an OE6 store folder," click OK. Then use the Browse button to navigate to the folder where you found the dbx files that are most likely yours, click Next. Finish stepping through the wizard and it should import your messages back into OE.

adyd - Welcome to the Board :)

I doubt that your emails are lost - just temporarily inaccessible.

Have you tried File > Switch Identity ?

Search your hard drive for *.dbx files - those dated prior to the addition of the other identity should be yours. If you open OE using your identity and go to Tools > Options > Maintenance > Store Folder the location of your message store should be shown - and should be the same as the location found in the file search. If it is not ....

Copy all the *.dbx files to another location so that if anything goes awry you have a backup. Then point OE to the location found in the file search using the change option which appears when you hit the Store Folder button.
