Lost ability to save passwords...why? Help anyone?

For some reason, many, but not all areas where I am offered to save a password will not save it. SOme areas do. like this BBS. AI'm pretty sure I have autocomplete working. Another example of the problem is this. Wiht my old computer(2months ago), at an online horseracing game(simulatedsports.com, not gambling by the way..) you can seearch for *sires* to see how much they cost. If you search for say Secretariat, his name would be *saved so if you typed in Sec...the autocomplete would bring him up. Now I cannot do this anymore, none are saved. What should I have set? WHat isn't? ANy ideas? I've tried most everything I can think of. Thanks for any help!!

I see others have this problem...this happens at sites that DO allow for saving and autocomplete...
