The title says it all really. I don't know when it started, but it must have been recently. When I click on a link, nothing happens. If I Copy & Paste the link into Firefox, no problem.I recently installed SP3, but that was a couple of weeks ago and I constantly click on links in e-mails from here ,so I don't think it's that:confused:.
    Windows XP SP3,
    Firefox 2.0.014
    Thunderbird 2.0.014

Not SP3! Eight attempts failed, and I saw that it did rolled back to SP2. completely. I, pretty much gave up.
As for your problem, I am assuming that Firefox and TB are default. Does IE open when you click on the link? Or just no reaction?
I would check if Firefox is still default, then I would look at the settings in Control Panel|Add or Remove|Set program access and default on the left column. You may have a direct link to Set Programs. Select Custom.
It is possible that SP3 did some resetting. I see some evidence in right click on the Taskbar|Properties|Customize. I used to have a bunch of icons, but now I have fewer "Current items ". I never saw that before.

    Thanks Westside,
That's exactly where the problem was.:D
It was set to use my current programme with no default. So I set Firefox and Thunderbird as defaults and Hey Presto clicking on links in e-mails work (brings up Firefox)
    Again,Thank you.:D:D

    Yeah , right:eek::eek:
And doing what I did above also cured another problem I was having. I was unable to install any add-ons to Firefox,NOW I can.
Do you think M$ has it in for Mozilla???????

I have no doubts. Mozilla has to be M$ enemy #1.
They killed Netscape pretty successfully, but I don't think it'll happen with Firefox.
Those huge corporations, like M$, Symantec, McAfee, etc., are feeding out of people's ignorance.
Not accidentally, all those IEs, Nortons, and alike come preinstalled, and average computer user just keep them.
However, it looks like computer education got little bit better (thanks to boards like this one), then some years ago, and more, and more people realize, that they don't want to keep any **** on their computers.
Seems like M$ is falling further behind in browser world.
FF3 final is coming out this month, and on the other hand IE8 second beta is planned for this FALL.

If they only could make one of the Linux OS's as user friendly as Windows they (M$) would lose a lot more customers. Roll on the day:D
They have come a long way with Firefox. I did not like it at all, at first. Now I use nothing else.

I don't think that Microsoft has it, specifically, with Firefox. It is too darned selfish. It wants to have an OS for all, at their terms.
I don't use any of the Microsoft program save for the OS. I looked at Linux a number of times, and it seems inadequate. Or, may be I was in its use.
I waited almost an year to get SP2. I was too gullible with SP3.
