I've had a few hiccup type mail losses using TB 2.0.0.17. I'll be reading email and suddenly the files in my Inbox disappear.

This has happened several (maybe 4-5) times. I've created a new sub-directory under Inbox (Inboxbackup) an move the mailings over to that to save them.

And let's go for a two for one while I'm at it.

For a long while I've had a sub-directory under saved that appears corrupt. It's empty, but I can't delete it.

Two possible issues. One that the Inbox file is too big, like nearly or over 1 GB. The other one is a corrupted index (.msf) file. Refer to Ramona's Netscape Solutions browser maintenance page . Since we are talking about mail limit yourself to the Mail part.

    Cal,

I'm so protective of my Mail, that I don't create any subdirectories under Inbox. All my subdirectories are created under the Mail Account. Just makes me feel better!

Have you tried deleting the empty subdirectory (with TB closed) from the Mail Account folder?

Westside's suggestions to do routine maintenance are right on. If you continue to have disappearing messages, let us know.

    Agreed.
I manage about 7 email accounts under one profile in TB. I have multiple sub dirs, all of them on their own. The inbox is only for my main account and I use rules to auto place messages into their respective dirs.

I have 10 accounts in one profile, most of them with subdirectories of each account Inbox, as well as other folders. I like to use individual account folders, no global settings for me. Several of my and my wife's accounts are main, so a single Inbox would be very confusing. I never had a problem.

    Ramona,

I have been able to delete the "Personal" folder following your suggestion. Thanks.

I've also moved my Inbox sub-folders as per your suggestion a few days ago. So far so good.

I'll also be implementing the Maintenance Guidelines.

Again thanks to you and the others who have responded.
