loss of hard disk space

    I have recently put windows XP Pro on to my PC and as a result have lost 73gb of space on my PC, i have gone fom having 200GB to just 127, is there any way i can recover this lost space or has it gone for good? Can someone please help.

    Was this a clean install with formating and if so what file system did you format to?

    My bet is that You used a pre-SP1 Windows XP CD to do the installation. Pre-SP1 can not recognize harddisk/partition sizes over 127 GB. If You check in Device Manager, there will probably be some 73 GB of unallocated space.

    Tell me if I'm right and then we'll take it from there!
