    Hi all,

    Win 98SE and dial-up connection.
What I am trying do is configure Outlook as one e-mail client for my sister and Outlook Express as another for her housemate, so they can each have an icon for their email on the desktop.
I had this setup working on their previous Win 95 system.
The problem is that when IE and the e-mails have been run, the connection "drops out "... "page cannot be displayed" in IE and the e-mails can no longer connect to the mail server.
I have changed settings in the e-mail programs, Zone Alarm and Norton AV and they worked again until I opened IE + Outlook + OE then the connection drops out.
I am not ruling out that the problem is with ZA or NAV (I have disabled e-mail checking in both).

Do you think I can get this setup working? Any suggestion for other e-mail programs? I have tried to get her to run a Hotmail account, maybe I will try again.
They are paranoid of viruses, spyware, etc, but won't take the time to find out how to avoid them...they just want it "automatic" (and beat me over the head when things go wrong :D ).

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks
    Matt

I haven't gotten OE and Outlook to play well together. How about setting up Profiles in Outlook or OE. Then they can log in and out of their Profiles. This should keep everything seperate. They should be able to get used to that.

I use Outlook so I can make profiles under Mail in Control Panel. Not sure how you do it in OE.

Profiles yes, I would like to have icons on the desktop, but next to running both programs that would be the next thing to try.

    Thanks Maggie
