I have two Dell laptops, and one will disconnect after a period of time. Like 8 hrs. of being in Standby. I have to reboot to get a connection.
This only happens to one laptop, so it must be a setting on that laptop is my guess. But, I don't know how to fix this problem.
I have a Dell Vostro 1500, with XP sp2, with 2gigs of ram, 250 hard drive.

Are they both configured same ? Same OS, service pack etc. ?

Go into Device Manager & check configuration of wireless adapters in both the laptops. May be you can get a clue there.

    Install SP3.

The only difference is the SP3 isn't installed on the one that disconnects. They both have been running this way for months. Then, all of a sudden, one disconnects. I'll try downloading SP3.

Also have a look on the Dell site and see if there are newer network drivers.
