Looking for software that will tell me what type of memory is inside my computer. I want to find out what is compatible with my computer so I can increase its memory. Any help is appreciated.

The simplest way is to download and run Everest which will give you details of your motherboard and also the memory.

Armed with the motherboard detail go to www.crucial.com and work through their Memory Selector which will tell you exactly which RAM is compatible.

I would trust Crucial - post the computer model/mobo detail that you entered in at Crucial and I will be happy to check for you.
