Looking for a VBS (or something :-) to restructure folders

Hi all. For five years or so I've been looking for an app that would resize all opening XP Windows folders to a preset size (and optionally a location) but so far I've found nothing that works. (Please note that I always use the Classic layout for XP, so that my XPP looks like W98)

It's just occurred to me that perhaps there's a different approach, like running a vbs script from a hotkey.

To give you an example of what I mean, let's say I open C:\Windows\balderdash for the first time today. It immediately opens wherever and in whatever size it pleases (nice one Mr.Gates)

I then hold down the Shift key and hit 'R' three times, and voila, the new window resizes itself to x pixels by x pixels and moves to the bottom left corner of the screen. (This is an example, of course. I don't yet have this facility, which is why I have so little hair :))

Knowing more about the back of the moon than I do about vbs scripts, I have no idea if this would work. Can anyone comment, please?

Please don't suggest I do the bags 8000 registry fix - been there, done that years ago. In any case, it was only a half-assed workaround.

No, I'd be happy to do the hotkey thing if it would work, as I currently spend wasted hours and wear and tear on my eyesight looking for the bottom corner of folders and dragging windows to a more appropriate size.

I look forward to hearing from someone with some knowledge of vbs (or a method of re-growing hair :)

    Cheers :)

PS: I'm not the only guy who's been driven to distraction by this Windows annoyance. The solution could be a path to Knighthood - who knows? :--))

    Open Explorer.
With your mouse drag the top, right, bottom and left margins to the size you want.

Do a File, Close (do not use the "X" at top right)

Now open Explorer again to test. Open any folder you like to test.
