Hoping someone can help me in finding a software program for converting CD's to mp3's & wav files. There are so many out there & it is hard for me without knowing how reliable these programs are.
Did download one on a trial basis - but the music was very garbled after the conversion.
    Thanks to all,
    Lucy

Thanks so much Abraxas - will certainly give it a try.
The only drawback is that I also want to convert WMA files as well & I don't think this particular program will do that.
Thanks again for the quick response - much appreciated.

Well - I used the first one you posted & it certainly is fast & the quality seems very good.
I will make note of the other two you posted & once again thanks for the replies.
I am going off line now.
    Thanks again Abraxas

If you're using Windows XP, iTunes will do it!

Thanks for the information re CDex.
Will have a look & see what it is all about.
Is this site free - not that is a major factor - I just want a good program with no problems.
I am running Windows XP home version.
    Thanks again

FWIW, I agree with Rockster2U. I've used CDex for a long time and it's definitly a program worth having. If they ever started charging for it (yes, it's free) I'd be glad to pay the piper. :)

    Lucy,
I have to throw in another vote for iTunes. This is software created by Apple for their online music store and the iPod. They offer a version for Windows (it's free). This software will convert CDs to MP3s, organize your music collection and you can also make your own playlists. You also can access the iTunes online music store (700,000 available tunes). I gave it try and I must say it's pretty impressive. It's at least worth a look, you can find it HERE .

    B

Well the program i use is called Audio Convertor v4.5, and it does everything you need of a convertor, you didn't say whether you needed a freeware or paid license version, but this is one will only set you back £11.29!! and it does all these things:

Audio Converter quickly and easily converts your audio files and CD audio tracks directly to WMA, MP3, AIFF, Vorbis OGG and Wave format. It supports compact disc database (CDDB) queries and submissions, WinAMP M3U and PLS playlists, audio volume normalization, audio compression manager (ACM), various MP3 encoders including L.A.M.E, BladeEnc and Radium MP3 codec, Windows Media Audio (WMA) V9, encoding portions of a file, ID3v2 tag (author name, title, album and other information) editing and more.

visit their website here for more info or to download or trial version:
