In any application (Notepad, MS Word) and from Windows Explorer, when I click on File Save or Open
File, or from Outlook Express when I click on Attach , the computer take an excessive time (18 seconds) to open a folder, switch to a different folder, or switch to a different drive,
to respond to dialog inputs. Can ths long time be a result of a a correct but large Registry or a directory having 400 Meg of files, or is there something actually wrong with the registry.

    Hi Vicwall
Can you give us a little more information? When did this start happening? What are you system specs?
And out of curiosity...do you have a large "My Documents" folder?

    Reply for Daizy:
In my Documents folder I have 455 objects (files/foders) totaling 65 Meg.

I'm running WindowsME and I cannot distinguish any event (computer config change, new software), marking when this started to occur.

    Thanks
    Vic

Just as a test....... on your root.....create a new folder. Call it something like Documents2. Throw the contents of your My Documents in it..and see if you notice a difference?

    Do you use Cleansweep?
