log application install

Is there a way to log "all" registry entries, files changes etc during an application install.
I remember several years ago an application "remove it" which would log every registry change, file written, etc.

I've had pretty good luck with RegShot but I must warn you, with complex installs, it get pretty confusing.

I generally just use it to monitor things when I'm looking to see what changing some Windows option does in the Registry. I get completely overwhelmed when looking at the report it gives on some installs.

I am perplexed as to how I would extract changes using this program.
It seems to monitor any reference to the registry and is autoscrolling at rapid rate.
Is there a way to monitor static write changes to the registry?
Do you remember the old program "remove-it "? It kept a log of any changes to the registry, files etc.

 

Remove it seems to still be around. I prefer RegShot however.

 

jawdoc - Regmon does, by default, capture more than you probably want. However, a little playing around with filters and you can get excellent control over the stuff you grab. It is more designed to see what is happening on your system though.

Probably for what you want though - simply the changes when you install an app, one of the others will be easier to use.
