Resolved Locked out of Window 7 due to BitLocker?

    Posting here for other users benefit in case it happens.

    If you need to unlock your drive manually after encrypting it with bitlocker & not being able to get in.

    boot into safe mode with command prompt:
    manage-bde X: -unlock -pw
    (enter password)
    manage-bde -off X:
    (wait awhile)
    manage-bde X: -status
    (continue to run this -status command until you see drive fully decrypted. it will also tell you its status % while decrypting)

    In my case I encrypted my data HDD (OS is on another drive) but did not encrypt the OS drive, create a usb key, or have TPM. Big mistake but it all works now. I had the key file, the keys themselves written down, & knew my password but they do no good as at the safe mode repair screen you do not have the ability to type letters that are in your key & there is no password option there.
