    Hi all.

My subscription for my webhosting is up, and I'm renewing my account with IpowerWeb. They're going to move my material from an old server to a new one. They've been helpful in telling me what to do when resigning, but this is were the problem is.

They have sent me the host names, and the host address, so I can reset my DNS settings to their new host. I thought this was simple, until I went through to their reset DNS page. Apparently there is about 10-15 different companies in the world that take care of Domain settings (like your go daddy's and All domains).

I know my webspace is with IPowerWeb, but I have no idea on who actually is administering my domain name. I looked it up on whois.com, and saw that my domain was registered with onlinenic.com. I have sent e-mails to both customer support areas of both companies, and have ever since got no replies.

Could someone please tell me how to find the company that administers my domain name? Would very much appreciate some help, as I find the lack of response from both companies plainly annoying.

Like you did: You use WHOIS.

Thing is, you may not even own 'your' domain name... it all depends. If an ISP registered it 'for you', they could be the actual owner. You'd have to check the agreement you (should) have when you first got the domain.

hmmm, yep, that makes sense now. If I've signed up with ipower, then they must have signed my domain with onlinenic.com. and by the way they have got back to me :) :) customer service is a little slow, but they get there in the end. Problem is all fixie fixie. thanks very much :) have a nice day
